MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Fifty-odd-year-old Marion County nonprofit Marion Senior Services, which serves the county’s older adults “with essential programs that promote independence, dignity, and quality of life,” has received $100,000 in grant money from Meals on Wheels America.
The money, a portion of $4 million granted this summer through MoW America’s 2026 Meeting Unmet Need initiative, will help Marion Senior Services expand its network of care throughout the region.
MSS currently delivers Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors in the county–a service that not only makes sure they get a decent meal, but also offers a check-in, some conversation, and the knowledge that these members of our community haven’t been forgotten. More than 900 seniors are on MSS’s waiting list, however, and the MoW America grant will help the organization get many of them off that list and on to the list of residents who benefit directly from the nutrition and connection.
