OCALA, FL (352today.com) – For the third year in a row, the City of Ocala will be hosting a local community cleanup event at Tuscawilla Park as part of the International Coastal Clean-Up initiative, giving residents and organizations an opportunity to pitch in, beautify their environment, and do a little bit for ecological conservation that directly impacts the community.
Members of the community, schools, businesses and other local organizations are encouraged to participate, whether in a group (which provides an excellent excuse to make some really hideous T-shirts) or as individuals. This annual event aims to literally clean up one of Ocala’s green-space jewels while raising awareness of the greater issue of litter and contamination of the natural environment that’s so critical to the survival of all species–including us.
Interested parties can pre-register for the event, which runs from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, September 19, 2026, here; pre-registration is encouraged so organizers can ballpark how many people to expect, and also because you might get some cool commemorative swag out of it, too.
It’s recommended that you bring the following:
- Refillable water bottle
- Sunblock
- Sunhat
- Comfortable shoes with good traction
- Work gloves
- Extra buckets or litter pickers, if you have them
(SCUBA gear is optional.)
