OCALA, FL (352Today.com) – Do you love downtown Ocala? If your answer is “yes,” Ocala Main Street is selling a new residential membership called Friends of Downtown for people who eat, shop, and spend time in the district.

The program is for residents, not businesses. Ocala Main Street, a 501(c)(3) supported by donations and volunteers, said the membership is meant to build a base of local advocates and raise money for its projects. The announcement invites residents to sign up now as founding Friends of Downtown.

The sign-up page lists the cost at $18.85 a month. The charge renews automatically, and the page says it can be canceled at any time.

Members are promised an Ocala Main Street decal, a newsletter, a social-media welcome, access to members-only downtown events, and a role in advocating for events, small businesses, and community projects.
