MIAMI, FL (352today.com) – Hurricane Isaias became a Category 3 storm early Friday morning, and is now projected to come ashore late tonight or early in the morning of Saturday, October 10, 2026.
According to the National Hurricane Center, as of this morning’s latest report, Isaias now has maximum sustained winds of 120 mph and is headed north-northeast at 15 mph.
“A life-threatening storm surge is expected from the mouth of the Mississippi River to Suwannee, Florida. Residents in the warning area should follow advice given by local officials and evacuate immediately if told to do so,” reads the report. “Damaging hurricane-force winds are expected over portions of the Florida Panhandle, southern Alabama and southern Mississippi where a Hurricane Warning is in effect. Residents in these areas should prepare for the possibility of long-duration power outages.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a state of emergency for 25 Florida counties on Wednesday; the only counties sometimes considered part of the North Central Florida region to be included are Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist and Suwannee counties.
