GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Thanksgiving brings together family and friends for the holiday. But by Saturday, y0u may need a break from so much ‘togetherness.’
Gainesville’s annual Cane Boil and Fiddle Fest could just be the distraction you need. It’s this Saturday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Morningside Nature Center.

If you want a way to get the kids off their devices and have them develop an appreciation for modern conveniences, step back to the 1870s and life on a working farm at the festival.
The city says the event will “showcase farm life from bygone days and celebrate the fall harvest with demonstrations of cane syrup production, farming techniques and other events typical of the era.”
Old-time Americana music will be performed throughout the day and guided nature walks will also be available.
The Morningside Nature Center which is located at 3540 East University Avenue.
The event is FREE.
