Gov. DeSantis calls for special session to strengthen sanctions against Iran and address other ‘urgent issues facing the state’

The special session will convene at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6. In addition to Iran sanctions, the governor will ask legislators to take up measures addressing Hurricane Idalia relief and lowering the cost of homeowners insurance.

Troopers charge Tampa man in deadly DUI wreck in Hernando County

Troopers say 38-year-old Reinier Casola Rodriguez of Tampa was speeding northbound on Mariner Boulevard when he lost control of the pickup truck he was driving. The passenger in his front seat fell out of the truck and died from his injuries.
