Idalia intensified overnight. Now forecast to become a major hurricane before making landfall on Florida’s Gulf coast

The National Hurricane Center forecasts Idalia to be a Category 3 hurricane when it makes landfall on Wednesday morning. This is the current forecast track as of Monday, Aug. 28, at 5 a.m. EDT. Impacts including tropical storm force winds and rain forecasted to begin Tuesday.
