Kathy is what is called a "River Rat" from Dunnellon, spending a lot of time on the beautiful Rainbow River growing up. She's spent 18+ years in radio news and more than 30 years as a journalist. She holds an AA in Mass Communications from the College of Central Florida.

National Weather Service advises of strong storms, potential flooding for Marion County

A flood advisory has also been activated by the NWS until 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27.  The NWS says that areas affected include low-lying areas in Marion County including Ocala, Ocala Airport, Reddick, Lowell, Dunnellon, and Rainbow Lakes Estates.
