ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A 30-year-old woman from Lake City was arrested on multiple charges related to a traffic incident that claimed the life of a bicyclist in Alachua County Wednesday night.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Shateria Glenn of Lake City was driving an SUV south on NW 75th Street on the evening of Wednesday, September 16, 2026, when her vehicle collided with a bicyclist near the intersection at NW 5th Place.
The rider was ejected from the bicycle; the cyclist landed in the roadway. The bicycle ended up in the northbound lanes of NW 75th Street, where it was hit again by another SUV driven by a 45-year-old Gainesville woman.
The cyclist was transported from the scene and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Glenn was arrested at the scene by the FHP, and charged with DUI, DUI Causing Damage to Property or Person, DUI Refusing to Submit to Testing, DUI Blood Alcohol Level 0.15 or Higher or With a Person Under 18 in the Vehicle (x3), and Homicide/Negligent Manslaughter/DUI Causing Death to a Human or Unborn Child.
