Sweet cravings satisfied with opening of two businesses
A long line of cookie lovers snaked its way down the sidewalk at the Market Street at Heath Brook shopping center for the highly anticipated grand opening of the Crumbl cookies in Ocala. The store opened on Friday, May 24, offering free samples of its famous milk chocolate chip cookies. The store is open 8 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The Ocala Metro Chamber of Commerce & Economic Partnership held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, May 14, for the opening of Nothing Bundt Cakes. The store is located at 3411 SW 36th Terrace. The specialty cake company offers a modern spin on a classic treat with decadent flavors including red velvet, lemon blueberry and carrot cake. The concept started in 1997 in Las Vegas and has grown to over 500 bakery locations.
College of Central Florida students celebrate graduation
The College of Central Florida celebrated its 2024 commencement on Thursday, May 9, at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala. The event conferred baccalaureate degrees, associate in science and arts degrees on hundreds of students. Families, friends and faculty gathered to honor the hard work and dedication of the graduates.
Park manager honored for years of service
The Marion County Board of County Commissioners honored Mickey Thomason at its meeting on Tuesday, May 21, for his more than 30 years of service. Thomason is a park manager for the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway. He will be retiring from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Office of Greenways and Trails this summer.

Sipping, shopping and socializing at Ladies Night Out
Ladies of all ages gathered at the College of Central Florida Vintage Farm to sip, shop and socialize on Thursday, May 9 – just as Ladies Night Out promised. Attendees visited vendors offering massages, piercings, fairy hair, permanent jewelry, selfie photo booth and cosmetics. The event supported Pace Center for Girls Marion by asking each attendee to bring donations of leggings and personal care items. 352today’s sister radio stations – 93.7 K-Country and 92.5/95.5 Wind-FM were proud sponsors of the event. Many of our colleagues were on hand for the event.
A Mother’s Day Tradition – Symphony Under the Stars
Folding chairs, picnics, music and family. What more could a mom want on Mother’s Day? Symphony Under the Stars attracted hundreds on Sunday, May 12, at the Ocala Golf Club. Maestro Matthew Wardell directed the Ocala Symphony Orchestra in the outdoor concert which ended with a fireworks show.
