MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – It looks like this week will finally break the pattern of building to showers over the course of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

The weekend’s wet weather will continue through Monday, before we settle into a cooler, dryer week with daytime temps climbing back from the high 50s into the 70s, though overnight temperatures will remain significantly cooler than those of the last few days.

Monday, March 16: Showers and thunderstorms before 3 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. High near 81. Breezy, with a southwest wind 9 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 39. Northwest wind around 9 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tuesday, March 17: Mostly sunny, with a high near 59. North wind around 7 mph, with gusts as high as 16 mph.
Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Light north wind.

Wednesday, March 18: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.
