OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Marion Oaks is home to many local flavors and family-operated businesses. One of these places that has seen a rise in business is the Sweet Treets Ice Cream Parlor in the Marion Oaks Shopping Center at 184 Marion Oaks Blvd., Ocala.

The small, family-owned shop features a lineup of popular and unique ice cream flavors with classics such as vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, well-known flavors such as crazy colors, cheesecake, mint chocolate chip and cotton candy and unique flavors like banana pudding and coconut almond fudge. Patrons can get the ice cream in waffle cones, cake cones or cups with prices varying on cone choice and size. The sizes for ice cream range from baby scoops up to three scoops with an option for a quart.

Along with the signature ice cream in the shop, they also serve shakes that patrons can get in any flavor of ice cream in either medium or large. The shop also offers specialty items including sundaes, banana splits and snow cones.

The sundae is composed of patrons’ choice of ice cream and syrup, topped with whipped cream and a cherry. The banana split features a sliced banana, ice cream, patrons’ choice of two toppings and syrup and is also topped with whipped cream and a cherry. The snow cone features shaved ice topped with patrons’ choice of a variety of syrup flavors.

They also feature non-ice cream options such as pudding, cakes and brownies. The pudding comes in a variety of flavors such as pistachio, banana pudding and cheesecake. The featured cakes come in lemon, carrot and red velvet flavors. The shop also has a shelf featuring items to make customizable coffee for those looking for a drink to pair with treats.

The interior of the ice cream shop features a long table hanging from the wall with bar stools lined across it and multiple tables with more bar stools. The walls are pink with white stripes and there is a small hopscotch toward the back leading to a restroom.

The parlor is open Sunday-Thursday from 1-8 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 1-9 p.m., though due to its family-owned operations, hours may vary. The shop will be closed from Jan. 9-11 with operations continuing on Jan. 12. For more information on their items and hours call the store at 352-693-4570.
