OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Mopar Association (FMA) is gearing up for its 38th Annual Sunshine State Mopar Car Show & Swap Meet, set for Feb. 28-March 1 at the Florida Horse Park, 11851 SW 16th Ave. (CR 475A).

This event unites Mopar clubs from Florida and the southeastern U.S. to celebrate the preservation and enjoyment of classic and modern Chrysler Corporation and American Motors vehicles, showcasing iconic brands like Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Ram Trucks, Jeep, DeSoto, Imperial, Fiat 500, and AMC.

The festivities kick off Feb. 28 with a Show & Shine display from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will also be a dinner with wine and beer, and live music for pre-registered guests at $25 per ticket from 5-8 p.m.

On March 1, show vehicle registration runs from 8-10 a.m., with judging starting at 11 a.m. and an awards presentation at 3 p.m. More than 80 awards will be handed out, and the first 200 cars snag coveted spots under the pavilion. A $200 cash prize awaits the club with the most registrations, adding a competitive twist that’s drawn groups from as far as Tennessee and Louisiana in recent years.

Attendees can expect a 50/50 raffle, vendors, a swap meet, and cash giveaways, with all proceeds benefiting Helping Hands, a Marion County nonprofit aiding locals in need. General admission is $10 per carload. Pro tip for participants: Bring a fire extinguisher for an extra judging point.

“No other car manufacturer, except General Motors, has offered such a diverse lineup over the years,” said an FMA secretary Roxanne Manzone. “If it’s Mopar-made, it’ll be at our show.” From stock four-door sedans to chrome-laden hot rods, “Rat Rods,” and even a Chrysler-built boat, the event has showcased over 4,500 vehicles in its 38-year history. Muscle cars, drag racers, and straight-off-the-lot performance models highlight Chrysler’s rich legacy, while personalized touches like vibrant wraps and themed displays – think military tributes or pop culture characters – add flair.

The FMA chose Helping Hands of Ocala as its charity partner after the organization supported a member’s family during tough times. “We love backing their efforts to help those struggling here in Marion County,” Manzone added.

For many, Manzone calls the show a “labor of love.” Owners spend hours detailing their rides, vying for category wins and club bragging rights. Car clubs often cruise in together, amplifying the camaraderie. “The best way to enjoy it is with friends who share your passion,” she advised. “Arrive early, soak it all in, and chat with owners – everyone’s got a story.”

Beyond the cars, vendors will offer rare Mopar parts, making it a treasure trove for enthusiasts. Set against the scenic Florida Horse Park, the event promises a full day of automotive nostalgia, community spirit, and horsepower-fueled fun.
