ORIGINAL, 2/22/2024: Marion County Utilities (MCU) has issued a precautionary boil water for residents of three neighborhoods.

MCU issued the boil water notice for customers in the Fore Acres, Hillside Acres, and Courtney Acres communities starting Wednesday due to water main repairs in the area.

MCU says customers within these communities are advised to bring water intended for consumption to a rapid boil for at least one minute until this precautionary notice is lifted. As an alternative, bottled water may be used for these purposes, which include drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth.

Water used for laundry, bathing, and/or showering does not need to be boiled.

The utility company will perform water testing update customers when the boil water notice is lifted.
