MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a 60-year-old man died Monday night after being hit by a pickup truck.
Troopers say the accident happened Monday night around 11:40 p.m.
They say the man was walking or standing in the eastbound lane of State Road 40 when a 20-year-old man from Ocala driving a pickup truck hit the pedestrian.

FHP says the accident happened where there was no lighting, and the pickup driver did not see the pedestrian in time to avoid hitting him.
Troopers say the pickup truck driver immediately pulled over.
FHP identified the 60-year-old victim as being from Quincy, Florida, which is northwest of Tallahassee.
