OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a 65-year-old woman driving a golf cart died Tuesday in an accident that happened just before noon.
FHP says the woman was driving east on SW 87 Loop in the Indigo East subdivision when a truck towing a trailer was traveling south on SW 79 Terrace Road.
Troopers say the woman went through a stop sign and hit the truck. They say the impact threw the woman from the golf cart onto the road and she was then hit by the trailer.
The driver of the truck, a 39-year-old man from Summerfield, was not injured.
