CROSS CITY, FL (352today.com) – A Cross City woman is dead after the vehicle she was in was involved in a wreck in Dixie County.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says that the woman was the passenger in a pickup truck that was hit by a semi pulling a flatbed trailer on US 19 just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3. Troopers report that she was taken to UF Health Shands where she later died.
The 77-year-old driver of the pickup truck suffered serious injuries, according to FHP. They say that the semi driver, a 38-year-old man from Augusta, AL, was not hurt.
Dixie County Sheriff’s Department and Dixie County Fire Rescue assisted on the scene. The wreck is still under investigation.
