ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Two community input sessions regarding the school rezoning proposal for Alachua County Public Schools have been rescheduled.

The rezoning proposal will be shared with the public and School Board in October. The Board plans to hold its first reading of the revised rezoning plan on Oct. 17, and a public hearing on Nov. 14. According to the school district, a final vote will take place on Dec. 5.

New attendance zones will still be adopted before the end of the school year, and will take effect for the 2024-25 school year, starting fall of 2024, said the school district.

You can give your input at one of the two community sessions which have been reschedule due to Hurricane Idalia. The first one is at the Kanapaha Middle School on Oct. 2 at 5:30 p.m. The second meeting is at Santa Fe High School on Oct. 12 at 5:30 p.m.
