OCALA, FL (352today.com) – As you’re in the midst of spring cleaning, Marion County Animal Services (MCAS) has some working pets that are ready to get their paws dirty and help you out. This week’s Pets of the Week feature animals from two special MCAS programs.

The FIDO Project pairs inmates with shelter dogs to work on training and socialization. The Working Whiskers Program takes less-social cats and finds them homes, businesses, and farms where they can live in exchange for providing rodent control. Finding arrangements for these cats is especially important during the busy kitten season.

In Central Florida, kitten season is already underway, and MCAS needs help getting through it. For the month of May, a donation of kitten supplies will get you half off any adoption fee. Prefer to help out those in the doghouse? A donation of Pupperoni treats will earn the same discount.

Meet the pets of the week who are ready to work their way into your heart.
