Two students from Alachua County Public Schools (ACPS) have earned top honors in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles. They competed against nearly 2,000 young scientists from 75 nations this year.
ACPS says Nathan Wei, a senior from Buchholz High, earned second place in the Chemistry Division and Abhith Kasala, a sophomore from Gainesville High, won third place in Earth and Environmental Science.
Sophia Rong from Buchholz also represented Alachua County in the ISEF competition this year. She was named a grand award winner in the Florida competition.
