MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Alert Marion system has distributed a Freeze Watch from the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, covering the Marion County region.
According to the alert, a Freeze Watch will remain in effect from 10:29 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18 through 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, for portions of northeastern and northern Florida, which includes overnight Freeze Warnings.

Which times will be the coldest
- For the Freeze Warning, from 9 p.m. Sunday evening to 9 a.m. Monday morning
- For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday morning
- For the Freeze Watch, from late Monday night through Tuesday morning
“The cold wind chills as low as 20 degrees could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken,” read the alert. “Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Appropriate action should be taken to ensure tender vegetation and outdoor pets have adequate protection from the cold temperatures. Young children, the elderly and the homeless are especially vulnerable to the cold. Take measures to protect them.”
