OCALA, FL (352today.com) – According to multiple reports, the Ocala Police Department is investigating a possible homicide in the area of Osceola Middle School, near the intersection of SE 3rd Street and 11th Avenue in Ocala.
Residents reported an active shooter alert sent to their Ring doorbell cameras and security systems.
A social media post by OPD reads, “There is an active police presence near SE 3rd Street and 11th Ave in response to a homicide incident. Roads in the area are temporarily blocked. Osceola Middle School was under a brief lockdown as a precaution. There is no immediate danger to the community. One subject of interest is in custody. Please avoid the area and additional updates will be provided when available.”
