LECANTO, FL (352today.com) – Lecanto High School will soon welcome one of its most celebrated alumni home this December as actor Miles Teller returns to campus for a special event with students and invited guests.
Teller, a 2005 graduate of Lecanto High School, will be honored at the Curtis Peterson Auditorium on Friday, Dec. 5 for an invitation-only event honoring his achievements and continued connection to the community, open exclusively to LHS students and special guests. The event, themed “Always a Panther. Welcome Home,” will celebrate Teller’s journey from Citrus County to Hollywood success.

Teller will take part in a program that includes reflections on his time at Lecanto High, insights from his acting career and advice for students pursuing their own ambitions.
“On behalf of the students, we are deeply honored and excited,” said Abby Runk, head of the LHS Student Advisory Council. “Miles Teller represents a dream achieved by someone who sat in these same classrooms and walked these same halls. His commitment to return, celebrate his journey and offer advice makes this a truly monumental and inspiring experience for all of us.”
Since graduating from Lecanto, Teller has starred in a range of acclaimed films, including Whiplash, The Spectacular Now, and the global blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick. His next project, Eternity (2025), continues to expand his reputation as one of Hollywood’s most dynamic and respected actors.
The Citrus County community has long taken pride in Teller’s success, seeing his rise as a reflection of the strong foundation offered by local schools and families.
“Miles Teller’s return is a profound source of pride for the entire Citrus County business community,” said Stacey Worthington, board chair of the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce. “His journey from our local schools to global success is the most powerful kind of story we can tell–it proves that the foundation for a world-class career can be built right here in our county. We are honored to welcome him back, and we hope this event inspires every student to recognize the unlimited potential that starts in Citrus County.”
The event marks a full-circle moment for Teller, whose return underscores the pride and unity of a community that continues to cheer him on from home.
