CITRUS COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Art Center of Citrus County‘s Art Center Theatre is mounting its own production of the Broadway version of “Mary Poppins” this month, and it’s not only a treat for the whole family but also features a cast that spans multiple generations.

Based on stories from author P. L. Travers’ Mary Poppins books and the Disney film they inspired, “Mary Poppins” opened on Broadway in 2006 and ran for more than 2,600 performances before closing in March 2013.

Nonprofit Art Center of Citrus County’s version, directed by Doreen Fontanez and music directed by Danielle Flury-Downey, takes the source material’s multigenerational cast and themes to heart. Actors from the ages of eight to 78 will tread the boards together to tell the story of the Banks family and their charmed and charming nanny.
