OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Summer is around the corner and it’s a great time to get informed on how to stay safe during your pool days in the Sunshine State.
The Ocala Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership (CEP) says Florida Fast is partnering with the USA Swimming Foundation in an effort to make and keep Marion County water safe.
On Saturday, April 27, a family-fun water safety day will be held at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training (FAST) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees will get the opportunity to enjoy the pools while learning “essential water safety techniques” said the CEP in a Facebook post. The event is free and located at 4635 SW 67th Avenue Road in Ocala.
Organizers say Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR), the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), AdventHealth, FAST, and the United States Navy will all have booths at the event to discuss water safety.
The event will also feature in-water demonstrations including life jacket safety, scuba diving safety, learn-to-swim techniques, and how to safely operate a kayak/inflatable boat.
