GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) along with the help of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) arrested a man who they say threatened to shoot up a school.

Authorities say Daniel Dominguez posted a video on Instagram stating that he intended to shoot up a middle school with an AR-15. They say he had a rifle and an air pistol sitting on either side of him in the video.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) saw the video and informed GPD, shared ACSO in a Facebook post.

GPD says they found and detained the 31-year-old in the city and with the assistance of ACSO, they were able to execute a search warrant of Dominguez’s residence which is located in an ‘unincorporate area’ of the county.

Further evidence was obtained ultimately leading to his arrest. He was transported to the Alachua County Jail where he is being held on a $2 million bond.

“This is a great example of law enforcement working together to protect our children and community,” posted both departments on their respective Facebook pages.

According to court records, Dominguez was charged with written/electronic threats to kill, which is a second-degree felony. He was also charged with a public order crime of terrorism resulting in death.
