MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for an orange and blue pickup truck that struck a school bus and fled the scene in Marion County on the morning of Monday, April 13, 2026.
According to the FHP report, a Marion County Public Schools bus was stopped in the westbound lane of SE 145th St. near the intersection of SE 38th Terrace at approximately 8:22 a.m., picking up students for the school day, when it was struck from behind by a pickup truck traveling westbound on the same road.
The pickup collided with the rear of the school bus, then fled the scene.
There were 54 high school students on the bus when the pickup struck it. Five were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The vehicle that fled the scene is described in the report as an “average size pickup truck with a white, blue and orange color scheme.”
