GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – UPDATE 5:45 p.m.: The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office says the girl has been found and is safe.
The sheriff’s office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement thank the public for sharing the information.
PREVIOUSLY, 2:26 p.m.: The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) says they are looking for a missing child last seen in Alachua County.
They say 12-year-old Cheyenne Mathis was last seen in the area of the 3200th block of Southwest 27th Street in Gainesville.
Authorities say she was last seen wearing a brown shirt and pink pants and could possibly be carrying a backpack. Her hair may also be straightened and in a ponytail, according to FDLE.
Cheyenne is described as a black female with brown eyes and hair. She is 5 feet tall and weighs around 100 pounds.
FDLE says she could possibly be with a black male in his 20 to 30s.
