BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – Belleview residents now have quicker access to life-saving help, thanks to the recent installation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the Belleview Community Center.

An AED is used when someone goes into sudden cardiac arrest. It can analyze heart rhythms and deliver a shock to restart the heart—often before emergency crews arrive. The device is designed to be used by anyone, even without medical training.

“The safety and well-being of our residents is our highest priority,” says Robert Vass, Events and Promotions Manager. “Emergencies don’t wait, and neither should we.”

The Belleview Police Department helped make the project happen, and officials say it’s part of a larger plan to place more AEDs in public spaces around the city.

“This AED installation is a prime example of what it means to serve and protect beyond traditional policing,” said Sergeant Mike Miley.

The City also hopes to offer CPR and AED training to the public, giving everyday residents the tools and confidence to step in during a crisis.

For local families, it means peace of mind—knowing help is close by when attending events, classes, or meetings at the community center.
