BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – The City of Belleview spotlights its smaller citizens: the children in town.
The first Tuesday of every month is a chance for family bonding, improving one’s mind, and spending an evening with a community leader.
The City of Belleview has partnered with SouthState Bank for the 2025 season of Storytime with the Mayor at the Belleview Community Center. This event has been hosted by the city’s leader for many years.
It’s a chance to spend your late afternoon with a light meal, while Mayor Christine Dobkowski entertains the audience by reading a children’s book.
The family-friendly event will feature games and activities that revolve around the central theme of the book, bringing the story’s message and characters to life.
Storytime is an occasion for all ages to engage and interact with surprise characters from children’s folklore making appearances. This event is supported by Goodwill BookWorks, allowing each child to take home a free book. This highlights the importance of reading for future success while exposing children to an educational resource in a fun and positive atmosphere.
Dobkowski joined a platform focused on learning and literacy because she wanted to share her love for books and reading, all while having fun.
“Storytime with the Mayor is something that I look forward to every year because it’s such a joy to engage with our community’s children and families,” says Dobkowski. “This year with the support of SouthState Bank, we’re able to offer even more to the families who join us, fun activities, special guests and a welcoming environment.”
SouthState shares Dobkowski’s enthusiasm about Storytime with the Mayor. “At SouthState, our goal is to create a night where families can come together, share a meal and enjoy an enriching experience through the book readings and activities,” says SouthState assistant branch manager Charlene Black. “We believe in the power of community and education, and partnering with the City of Belleview for Storytime with the Mayor is perfect way to support both.”
