BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – The City of Belleview continues to invest in improvements enhancing public spaces and services for residents. As part of this ongoing effort, the city installed two new baby changing stations at the Belleview Community Center, furthering its commitment to making city facilities more accessible, family-friendly, and convenient for everyone.
The new stations, located in both the women’s and men’s restrooms, were added to support families attending community events, meetings, and private gatherings at the facility. The installation reflects Belleview’s broader initiative to ensure that all residents have a comfortable and inclusive environment when using city spaces.
“This is part of our continuing goal to provide greater comfort, accessibility, and service in every city facility,” said Robert Vass, community engagement liaison for Belleview. “The Community Center is one of Belleview’s most frequently used spaces. Each week it hosts everything from family reunions to neighborhood meetings, business trainings and holiday events. Adding baby changing stations is a simple but important way to make sure the needs of every guest are addressed.”
The installation was completed by the City of Belleview Public Works Department, which maintains and improves city-owned properties. The department regularly reviews feedback from residents and renters to identify opportunities for practical upgrades.
Nicole Earwood, Public Works executive assistant, coordinated the installation and emphasized the importance of listening to the community’s needs. “It was noticed by staff that parents and caregivers were lacking access to baby changing stations and they were needed,” Earwood explained. “By placing one in both restrooms, we’re making sure every parent has equal access to a clean and safe space to care for their child. It’s a small change, but it makes a big difference in how welcoming a facility feels.”
Public Works Director Bob Titterington highlighted how this project fits into the city’s larger mission of continuous improvement. “The Public Works team takes pride in identifying projects that add value to our facilities and improve everyday experiences,” Titterington said. “From large infrastructure upgrades to small, thoughtful additions like these, our goal is to make every public space serve the community better. When our facilities are comfortable and functional, they give residents the ability to enjoy all that Belleview offers.”
Over the past year, the Belleview Community Center has undergone a series of upgrades designed to improve both the look and usability of the space. Enhancements include new flooring, fresh interior painting, an 85-inch smart TV, and a new microwave, offering renters and program organizers an updated, modern setting for meetings, classes, and celebrations. These updates complement the city’s broader investment in maintaining high-quality community facilities across Belleview.
City Administrator Mariah Moody commended staff for their proactive approach and ongoing dedication to community service. “These improvements are not just addressing the physical space,” Moody said. “Each update helps create spaces that truly serve the public. Our residents expect value, comfort, and accessibility from city facilities, and we’re proud to continue meeting those expectations through steady, thoughtful improvements.”
Located at 5615 SE 110th Place, the Belleview Community Center serves as a gathering place for a wide range of activities including city-sponsored programs, business meetings, club meetings and private gatherings. It stands as one of the city’s most versatile facilities, accommodating both public and private functions throughout the year.
Residents, organizations, and businesses interested in securing the Community Center for events are encouraged to contact Angie Pittsley at facilities@belleviewfl.org, or visit belleviewfl.org for rental information, rates, and scheduling.
As Belleview continues to grow, the city remains committed to providing well-maintained, accessible, and adaptable spaces that meet the evolving needs of the community.
