BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) — The City of Belleview is rolling out a new program to help local businesses spruce up their storefronts and boost curb appeal. Called Beautify Belleview, the grant program offers up to $2,500 to cover the cost of exterior improvements for commercial properties within city limits.
Unlike typical grants, this one doesn’t require owners to front the money. Instead, the city will pay licensed contractors or vendors directly once a project is approved. Eligible improvements include things like fresh paint, new signs, landscaping, fencing, better lighting, and repairs to make buildings or parking areas more accessible.
“Our goal with this program is to empower business and property owners to take pride in their storefronts and the image they project to the community,” said Mayor Christine Dobkowski. “We know how important first impressions are—whether it’s for a customer walking through the door or a family driving through town for the first time.”

To qualify, the commercial property must be inside Belleview’s city limits, and the owner must live within 50 miles of the city. Tenants can apply too, as long as they have the property owner’s approval. All proposed work must be approved in advance, and properties must be current on taxes with no open code violations.
“This program reflects the city’s ongoing mission to support small businesses and revitalize key areas of Belleview,” said City Administrator Mariah Moody. “We’ve made the application process simple, and we’re removing financial barriers by handling payments up front.”
Robert Vass, Events and Promotions Manager, will oversee the program. “Beautify Belleview is about more than paint and plants—it’s about showing pride in our community and encouraging continued growth,” he said.
