BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – Three Belleview city officials took their oaths of office Tuesday, marking the start of new terms for the incumbents who ran unopposed in the recent election.
Mayor Christine Dobkowski, Commissioner Ray Dwyer (Seat 2), and Commissioner Robert “Bo” Smith (Seat 4) were sworn in during the Nov. 19 City Commission meeting at Belleview City Hall.
The City Commission oversees Belleview’s policies and development, with responsibilities including creating ordinances, approving budgets, and managing city initiatives focused on public safety, infrastructure, and quality of life. As commission chair, the mayor leads these efforts while serving as the city’s official representative.
“It is a privilege and an honor to serve the City of Belleview, and I am humbled by the trust our residents have placed in me and my fellow commissioners,” Mayor Dobkowski said. “Together, we strive to ensure Belleview remains a vibrant, welcoming, and thriving community. I am excited to continue working alongside such a hardworking team and look forward to what we can accomplish together in the coming years.”
City Administrator Sandi McKamey emphasized the ceremony’s significance beyond its formal nature.
“The swearing-in ceremony is more than a procedural event—it is a testament to the dedication and stability of our city’s leadership,” McKamey said. “We are grateful for the continued service of Mayor Dobkowski, Commissioner Dwyer, and Commissioner Smith. Their commitment to Belleview ensures that our residents’ voices are heard and that the city’s progress remains steady. I thank them for their service and their willingness to lead.”
City Clerk Mariah Moody noted the collaborative spirit of the commission.
“As the City Clerk, it is always an honor to work with passionate Commission members,” Moody said. “Mayor Dobkowski, Commissioner Dwyer, and Commissioner Smith have consistently shown their commitment to Belleview, and I look forward to supporting them as they continue their work to better our city.”
The three officials say that they will continue their focus on initiatives benefiting Belleview’s residents, businesses, and visitors as they begin their new terms.
