BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – The City of Belleview, Florida is looking for residents to join its Planning & Zoning Board, which helps guide the city’s development through recommendations on zoning and land use decisions.
The board meets monthly to review zoning changes, variance requests, and special exceptions before providing input to the City Commission. Members serve three-year terms, with meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM.
“Our Planning & Zoning Board is one of the most important avenues for citizen involvement in city governance,” says Mayor Christine Dobkowski. “It’s about more than reviewing plans and making recommendations—it’s about shaping the vision for Belleview’s future. We’re looking for residents who care deeply about their community and want to contribute their ideas, insights, and expertise to help us grow in ways that honor our values while meeting new challenges.”
To qualify, applicants must live in Belleview, be registered to vote, and be current on their city taxes. The board consists of five members and one alternate, who serves a one-year term.

We’re calling on residents with a love for Belleview to step forward and be part of this important work.”
Board members must follow Florida’s Sunshine Law and file annual financial disclosure forms. Their key responsibilities include reviewing zoning changes, considering variance requests, and addressing long-term planning issues.
“This is your chance to have a voice in how Belleview grows,” adds Mayor Dobkowski. “We’re looking for individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and work together to create a better future for all of us. Whether you’re passionate about sustainable development, preserving our city’s character, or planning for growth, we need your perspective at the table.”
Interested residents can find applications on the city’s website.
“It’s inspiring to see how much residents care about their community,” Moody says. “By joining the Planning & Zoning Board, you’re not just helping to guide decisions—you’re helping to shape Belleview’s legacy for future generations.”
