The City encourages residents to stay informed and take the necessary steps to stay safe during hurricane season, which runs through November 30.

The City’s official website, provides valuable resources on emergency preparedness and storm updates, including shelter information, preparation tips and links to multiple resources. The website will be regularly updated with the latest storm information to keep residents informed throughout the season.  The City encourages residents to also follow their social media accounts on Facebook/Instagram (@cityofbelleview) for updates.

In addition, the City of Belleview urges all residents to register for Alert Marion, an emergency notification system that sends critical alerts directly to your phone or email. Registration for the service can be completed online at Alert Marion.

Tips for Staying Safe During Hurricane Season:

  1. Create an Emergency Kit: Include non-perishable food, water, medications, flashlights, batteries, and a first aid kit.
  2. Secure Your Home: Check windows and doors, trim trees and shrubs, and reinforce your roof and garage doors.
  3. Know Your Evacuation Routes: Familiarize yourself with local evacuation routes and shelters. Ensure your vehicle is fueled and ready to go.
  4. Stay Informed: Monitor the latest storm updates from local authorities and the National Weather Service.
  5. Communicate with Family: Make sure all family members know your evacuation plan and how to contact each other in case of an emergency.
