MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Grocery store candy aisles aren’t the only place to find Kisses for your Easter basket – the Humane Society of Marion County (HSMC) has a special one of their own.
Kisses, a 3-year-old Mountain Dog mix, visited the 352today office with Shelter Operations Manager Austin and Humane Education and Outreach Specialist Aimee to show why she’d make the perfect addition to your family.
Weighing in at 83 pounds of snuggles and love, Kisses has spent the past month at HSMC. True to her name, she’s known for showering everyone she meets with affection – earning her the title of “world’s biggest sweetheart” around the shelter.

With a playful personality and plenty of energy, Kisses thrives on fun and affection. She gets along well with cats and other dogs, too, making her a great fit for many different households. Austin described her ideal home as “any with a big comfy couch.”
Kisses came into HSMC with her sister, Hershey’s. Austin and Aimee described the two as “essentially twins” with it comes to personalities, just with slightly different coats. While they’d love to be adopted as a pair, each dog is perfectly happy finding a home of her own.

Ready for Kisses to hop into your family? The adoption fee at HSMC for dogs 7 months or older, like Kisses, is just $50. All adoptions begin with an application process and meet-and-greet to make sure every animal joins the right forever home.
You can meet more adoptable dogs this weekend at the National Pet Day Celebration. HSMC will be joining Lennar Homes at Marion Ranch to celebrate with the animals, food, vendors, giveaways, and more. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at 8319 SW 46th Avenue in Ocala.
