LAKE COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – UPDATE: Traffic is once again moving on Florida’s Turnpike. 352today reporter Kathy Dugan was caught up in the traffic jam and reports that a wrecker got on scene just after 7 p.m.
Dugan says the back-up was caused by a bad wreck involving a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler. The pickup slammed head-on into the backend of the 18-wheeler.
ORIGINAL 6:45 p.m.: Florida’s turnpike northbound in Lake County is a parking lot around 6:45 p.m. and has been that way for at least two and a half hours.
Florida Highway Patrol’s live traffic crash and road condition report website indicates an accident with injuries was reported around 4:15 p.m. Friday.
352today’s Kathy Dugan is caught in the traffic and confirms there’s a bad wreck just before the Leesburg exit. At 5 p.m., she reported that she had not moved for about an hour. Just before 7 p.m. she stated traffic has started but “it’s still stop and go.”
