OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The sound of banjos and fiddles will waft through the air in downtown Ocala for the city’s inaugural Brick City Bluegrass Festival.

The festival takes place Saturday, Jan. 20, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Citizens’ Circle, 151 SE Osceola Ave.

The city says the outdoor music festival will feature both nationally known and local bluegrass bands.

The festival headliners, Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers, were Named Entertainers of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) in 2019.

Music Lineup/Schedule:
1 p.m.
 – Gates Open
2 to 3 p.m. – The Flattlanders
3:15 to 4:30 p.m. – Low Ground
5 to 6:15 p.m. – The Price Sisters
6:30 to 8 p.m. – Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers

Festivalgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The National Weather Service says it will be a cold weekend in north-central Florida. The high temperature for Saturday is expected to be in the low 50s.

This event requires a ticket to enter the event area. General admission costs $25 at the gate. Advance purchase tickets cost $20 through Friday, Jan. 19.  and general admission will require a wristband to be in the event area. You can purchase tickets here.

In addition to live music, the city says food trucks will be on-site, including Country Boyz BBQ, The Krafty Kettle, Rollin Sliders, and Pepere Joe’s Chowder Wagon. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase. Coolers will not be permitted inside the event area.
