COLUMBIA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol has advised that there is currently an active 243-acre prescribed burn along U.S. HWY 27 at River Rise Preserve, near the Columbia-Alachua County Line.
Smoke along the highway may cause hazardous conditions on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, into the evening and throughout the night.
Motorists are advised to use caution as visibility may deteriorate suddenly, particularly during nighttime hours.
