COLUMBIA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) hopes you can help them identify a man caught on camera vandalizing the tires on an 18-wheeler.
Troopers believe the man is responsible for at least 10 separate incidents in Columbia County. FHP released a video of one incident from May 5, 2023. The video shows the criminal hit just after 2 a.m.
FHP says the criminal mischief, which is a felony, is taking place overnight as the tractor trailers are parked on entrance/exit ramps on Interstates 75 and 10.
They say the man uses a tool to puncture the tires, deflating them.
“In addition to the high cost to replace tires, the ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle with damaged tires is seriously jeopardized,” said Lt. Patrick Riordan in an emailed release.
