CEDAR KEY, FL (352today.com) – An event that draws thousands of people to Florida’s Clam Capital every year has been canceled.

The Cedar Key Lions Club announced on its Facebook page that the 54th Annual Cedar Key Lions Seafood Festival has been canceled “due to the damage Hurricane Helene did to Cedar Key’s homes, businesses and infrastructure.”

The festival was set for October 19 and 20, but due to the damage caused by Hurricane Helene, the club has had to cancel it. Residents and business owners on the island are still dealing with the aftermath of the storm.
