OCALA, FL (352today.com) – College of Central Florida (CF) pitcher Jay Jung came out of the bullpen in the second inning with the Patriots trailing FCSAA No. 1 Indian River State College, 5-3. From there, Jung took control, tossing eight shutout innings and leading CF to a 9-5 comeback win.

Jung (4-2) allowed just two hits and struck out four, helping the Patriots punch their ticket to next weekend’s regional playoffs.

The Patriots tied the game 5-5 in the third inning with a two-run blast from Miles Curley – his fourth homer of the season. Cooper Jones followed with a solo home run to lead off the fourth and later added two more RBIs on a single in the fifth. Marcus Bradshaw capped the scoring with an RBI single in the same inning.

With the win, CF (ranked No. 5 in the FCSAA) improves to 34-14 overall and 19-12 in the Citrus Conference. Indian River drops to 32-14 and 21-9 in conference play. The two teams wrap up the regular season in a doubleheader this Saturday in Ocala, starting at noon.
