MADEIRA BEACH, FL (352today.com) – The College of Central Florida softball team wrapped up the JUCO Kickoff Classic in impressive fashion on Sunday, picking up two wins against the USAF Academy (CO) and Rend Lake (IL).

Game 1: CF 14, USAF Academy 1
  • Offensive Highlights:
    • Leah Clark led the Pats, going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, and four RBIs.
    • CF totaled 14 hits overall, with multi-hit performances from Caitlin Blankenship (2-for-4, double) and Bailey Holmes (2-for-2, double).

  • Pitching:
    • Sophomore Madison VanAllen (2-0) earned the win, throwing four scoreless innings and allowing just three hits while striking out two.
    • Skyler Hodges pitched the final inning, giving up one unearned run and striking out two.
Game 2: CF 10, Rend Lake 2
  • Early Pitchers’ Duel:
    • Both teams were held scoreless through three innings before Rend Lake plated two runs in the top of the fourth.
  • Six-Run Response:
    • The Pats responded in the bottom of the fourth with six runs.
    • After a leadoff walk by Madison Driggers, Gabrielle Rascher and pitcher Hailey Pyle hit back-to-back home runs to give CF a 3-2 lead.
    • Three more runs came in on a Rend Lake error and a two-run single by Blankenship, who finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
    • Rascher (2-for-3, HR, two RBIs) and Holmes (2-for-2, RBI) also contributed multi-hit games.
  • Complete-Game Win:
    • Pyle (2-0) went the distance, allowing two runs on eight hits, walking one, and striking out two.
