Chiefland Police Department looking for missing 65-year-old man

Chiefland Police say William Howarth has been missing for almost a month. Family members say he's a military veteran in need of his prescription medication.

CHIEFLAND, FL (352today.com) – The Chiefland Police Department (CPD) is asking for your help locating a missing 65-year-old man.

According to CPD, William Howarth was reported missing on Aug. 11. They believe he left his home in Chiefland walking in an unknown direction. Police believe he left under his own ‘free will.’

The police department says his friends are worried because they have not spoken to him since he left.

CPD says Howarth is a military veteran and in need of his prescribed medicine.

CPD says Howarth’s family believes he may be homeless in the Gainesville area.
