CITRUS COUNTY, FL. (352today.com) – The Lecanto Government Building and the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum building have been illuminated green as part of Operation Green Light for Veterans, a nationwide effort by counties, the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers.
From now through November 11, these county buildings and landmarks will be illuminated green to show support for veterans and raise awareness around the resources available at the county, state, and federal levels to assist veterans and their families.
“With over 17,000 Veterans in our county, commemorating and thanking all those who have served is incredibly important to Citrus,” said County Administrator Steve Howard.
Citrus residents, businesses and community organizations are encouraged to participate in Operation Green Light by changing one light to a green bulb. By shining a green light, we let our veterans know that they are seen, appreciated, and supported.
Citrus County’s Veterans Services Office served nearly 5,000 Veterans in 2025 alone. To learn more about their work and services, visit citrusbocc.com/veterans.
