OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The College of Central Florida Patriots (33-19, 23-10) baseball team has once again shown why they are one of the elite programs in the country by winning the Citrus Conference regular season title after sweeping Indian River State College Pioneers (21-25-1, 14-19) on Friday, April 24th, 2026, 2-0 and 9-2. The Pats have made the postseason in six consecutive seasons, including two state championships (in ’22 & ’23), a state runner-up (2025), and a National Championship in 2023. CF earned the right to host the Ocala Regional starting Friday, May 1st at Goodlett Field. The opponent will be announced Monday afternoon.

In the first game on Friday, Jake Meadows (3-2) threw a complete game seven-inning shutout. Meadows scattered seven hits, walked one, and struck out five in his clutch performance. The Pats could only muster two hits in the game, and both came off the bat of Amaury DeJesus. One of DeJesus’s hits was his third homerun of the season. The Pats’ only other run was scored on a sacrifice fly by Brett House. Those two runs were enough to squeak out the 2-0 win.

Pitching once again dominated in the second game of the doubleheader as Jay Jung and two relievers held the Pioneers to two runs on six hits in the 9-2 Patriots win. Jung went six innings allowing only four hits, two runs, with five strikeouts to improve to 6-4 for the season. Kohl Kilcrease struck out five batters in two shutout innings of work and Will Eaton pitched the ninth inning allowing no hits while striking out one. This win clinched the regular season title for the Patriots. The offense overcame their lackluster game one and pounded out twelve hits. Talan Beckford (4-6, HR, 2 RBI), Ignacio Salaverria (3-6, 2 RBI), and Jose Correa (2-3, HR, 2 RBI) were the offensive leaders and combined for 9 of the team’s 12 hits. Balint Piros added two RBI and House had an RBI double.

CF will host the FCSAA Ocala Regional starting on Friday, May 1st versus an opponent to be announced on Monday. The series will be a two-out-of-three format with the winner earning the right to go to Tampa for the FCSAA State Final Four starting May 8th.
