TAMPA, FL (352today.com) – The College of Central Florida (CF) softball team extended their winning streak to six games following a doubleheader sweep against Hillsborough Community College in Tampa on Tuesday.
Game 1: CF 5, HCC 3
In the first game, the Lady Patriots secured the win with a pivotal four-run third inning. Gabrielle Rascher sparked the offense by hitting a two-run double, followed immediately by Catlin Blankenship’s two-run home run to center field.

Morgan Stevens provided a strong pitching performance, throwing a complete seven-inning game. She allowed just six hits and three runs—only one earned—while striking out seven batters and walking one.
The Patriots recorded 12 hits in the victory. Amber Daugherty was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3. Leah Clark, Madison VanAllen, and Blankenship contributed two hits each.
Game 2: CF 19, HCC 2
Central Florida dominated the second game, powered by Hailey Pyle’s outstanding performance both offensively and on the mound. Pyle hit two home runs—a two-run homer in the first inning and a three-run shot in the third. She also pitched all five innings, allowed only two unearned runs on two hits, and recorded nine strikeouts.
The Patriots exploded for 19 runs on 17 hits, including an 11-run third inning. Leah Clark (2-for-3) and Madison VanAllen (1-for-2) each added home runs. Amy Crosby (3-for-5), Abbie Roach (1-for-1), and Gabrielle Rascher (2-for-2) all contributed doubles.
With the wins, the Patriots improved to a 16-8 overall record and 6-4 in Citrus Conference play. Hillsborough dropped to 2-20 overall and 1-11 in the conference.
The Patriots will next face St. Johns River State College in an away game on Wednesday, March 12, starting at 2 PM. Their next conference matchup will be at home on Saturday, March 15, when they host top-ranked Florida Southwestern State College in a doubleheader beginning at 1 PM.
