SEMINOLE, FL. (352 Today) August 12th, tragedy struck our linemen family in Seminole, Florida, when three crew members were involved in a devastating electrical accident. The accident claimed the life of Justin Bryan and critically injured Matt Waldrop and Jeff Busch. These men are more than linemen; they are fathers, brothers, friends, and everyday heroes who risk their lives to keep our communities powered.
As news spread, the community began searching for ways to help. One local business, Lucky U Cycles, quickly stepped up to host a fundraiser for the families.
“At Lucky U Cycles, we’ve always believed in supporting the people who support our community,” said the shop’s owner. “Linemen risk their lives every day to keep the power on, and when tragedy struck, we felt a responsibility to step up and help their families through this difficult time.”
The decision came shortly after learning of the heartbreaking accident. “Knowing these men were out there working to serve others when tragedy struck really hit home,” the owner shared. “We couldn’t just stand by, we knew we had to take action.”
For Lucky U Cycles, this event is about more than raising money. It’s about showing solidarity. “These men are fathers, brothers, and friends, and their families are left to carry a heavy burden,” the owner explained. “For Lucky U Cycles, it’s about being more than a motorcycle shop, it’s about being part of a community that shows up when it matters most.”
The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, September 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lucky U Cycles. The event promises to be a family-friendly day designed to bring people together in support. Attendees can expect live music, food, vendors, motorcycles, raffles, and auctions, all aimed at raising funds for the families of Bryan, Waldrop, and Busch. “We’ll have raffle items donated by local businesses and larger auction items to help raise as much money as possible,” the owner said. “It’s all about bringing people together to give what they can.”
For those unable to attend, there are still ways to be part of the effort. “Even if you can’t attend, you can still make a difference,” the owner emphasized. “Donations and raffle item contributions are welcome, and simply helping spread the word about this cause means a lot.”
