BEVERLY HILLS

  • Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies and Citrus County Fire Rescue (CCFR) responded to an electrical fire on West Lemon Street. Deputies are asking citizens to avoid the area.

CEDAR KEY

  • Idalia made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane in Keaton Beach, 55 miles north of Cedar Key.
  • Storm surge has caused flooding of at least six feet, as of 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • Cedar Key Fire Rescue (CKFR) is strongly discouraging people from coming to Cedar Key on its Facebook page.
  • CKFR says the tide will continue to come in until noon today, Aug. 30.
  • The backside of the island is closed off due to a large fallen tree, as posted by CKFR.
  • More images show extensive flooding, fallen trees and damaged property.
  • “We have propane tanks blowing off all over the island,” said CKFR in a post at 9:04 a.m. today.
  • A live weather camera at 83 West & 29 North has been offline since approximately 5:26 a.m.

CRYSTAL RIVER

  • The highest risk of flooding will be at 4 p.m. today, Aug. 30, says Crystal River government.
  • Crystal River city officials are asking people to stay indoors until the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) says it is safe to leave. Officials say driving around can push flood waters into homes and businesses and cause more damage.
  • CCSO shared footage of how the rain and winds are affecting roads across the county.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 29 CCSO shared images of Pete’s Pier Marina at high tide. Today, Aug. 30 at 7:30 a.m., Crystal River shared new images of the marina even further underwater.
  • 19 southbound (from Turkey Oak Drive to Southeast Fort Island Trail) is closed due to flooding.
  • Southeast Fort Island Trail (at Suncoast Boulevard) is closed due to flooding.
  • Southeast Cutler Spur Boulevard southbound (from Paradise Point Road to Kingsway Drive) is closed due to flooding.
  • Northeast Fifth Street (from West Crystal Street to Suncoast Boulevard) is closed due to flooding.
  • Northwest Sixth Street (at Suncoast Boulevard) is closed due to flooding.

GAINESVILLE

  • City officials say Gainesville is no longer in the direct path of the storm. However, Alachua County remains under a Hurricane Warning and Flood Watch.
  • City officials urge residents to stay indoors due to the extreme wind projected in the next several hours.
  • Northbound lanes on Southwest Williston Road (at Southwest 40 Street) are blocked by debris.
  • Eastbound lanes are blocked near the 3800 block of Northwest 16 Avenue due to a large fallen tree, as posted by GPD.

OCALA

  • According to Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR), the Ocala Electric Utility (OEU) has closed 24 power outages (3,882 customers) so far.
  • As of 9:25 a.m., there were 16 open outages (255 customers) still waiting on power restoration.
  • There is a Tornado Watch in effect until 3 p.m. today, Aug. 30.

SUMMERFIELD
