OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The basic necessities that every resident of North Central Florida need can always be found at your local Walmart, tucked away in a variety of aisles that offer a large array of items.
There is one catch: you have to pay for them. It’s the bare minimum to avert yourself from a crisis involving law enforcement.
On February 10, one couple did not adhere to this advice. Officials with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office say 38-year-old Jared Morrison and 34-year-old Heather Davis decided to steal from the Walmart on S. US Highway 441.
Deputies were quickly dispatched to the Walmart, where investigation uncovered that the two had stolen the goods and took off in a white van.
Later on in the night, a deputy spotted the van running a stop sign at SE 102nd Court Road and Highway 42.
The deputy attempted a traffic stop, to no avail. The couple instead took off, engaging deputies in an on-road pursuit.
Dashcam footage captured the moments the van began to swerve in and out of a one-way lane as the pursuit went from asphalt to dirt.
The vehicle pursuit eventually came to an end when the couple crashed the van into a barbed wire fence.
However, the pursuit did not end there. The couple then jumped out of the car and took off.

Morrison was quickly apprehended by a deputy, but Davis was nowhere to be found.
In a densely forested area, there’s no telling where a potential suspect could be on foot. MCSO did the next best thing, bringing in a chopper to provide reconnaissance from above.
Within minutes, the chopper was able to locate Davis, who was laying down on the ground right off of a road in the forest.

The pilot directed on-foot deputies to Davis’ location, and with the help of a K-9 unit, Davis eventually surrendered to deputies.
During their arrest, deputies found fentanyl and methamphetamine on their person.
